Brentford’s waterways will once again take centre stage later this month as the Brentford Canal Festival 2026 promises a packed programme of music, food and community activities.
The free festival will take place on Saturday 20 June, bringing together residents and visitors for a day-long celebration across multiple locations including the Grand Union Canal, River Brent and River Thames.
Now in its fifth year, the event has grown into one of the borough’s largest community gatherings, with organisers saying last year’s festival drew between 6,000 and 7,000 people.
This year’s festival aims to build on that success with what organisers describe as “more going on than ever”, featuring activities spread across Brentford Market Place, Workhouse Dock, Brentford Lock Piazza and beyond.
Visitors can expect a wide mix of attractions, including:
For music fans, five separate stages will host live performances throughout the day, including a floating stage at Brentford Gauging Lock alongside venues in the Market Place, Workhouse Dock and Brentford Lock.

Local cafés, pubs and restaurants will be joined by a wide range of street food vendors, offering everything from quick bites to full meals, ensuring visitors can stay fuelled throughout the day.
Organisers say the festival is as much about celebrating Brentford’s community spirit as it is about entertainment, with local groups, charities and creatives all playing a key role.
Organised by the community group Brentford Voice, the festival has become a major annual fixture, highlighting the area’s waterways heritage and creative scene.

“Great things happen when a community bands together,” organisers say, inviting residents to come along and experience “a taste of true Brentford hospitality”.
With its mix of outdoor activities, live performances and family-friendly attractions, the Brentford Canal Festival looks set to once again draw crowds from across west London.
