The group has returned in some style from walking the last stage of the Camino de Santiago, a distance of about 85 miles. This famous pilgrimage attracts people from all over the world. According to the New York Times, 475,000 people presented their credentials for the certificate in 2013. Certainly we met lots of interesting people, stayed in some charming hosteries, drank a glass or two of vino tinto and were duly overawed by the magnificent Cathedral of Santiago where we heard the Pilgrim's Mass. Now we are turning our thoughts to next year. Likely to be Italy, perhaps part of the Way between Assisi and Rome, perhaps a more secular walking holiday in Western Italy. As always we welcome new members as we will walk on alternate Sundays. PM me for information.
