Car parking in Goldsmith Avenue

Why do people, who have a gap outside their ownhouses at the bottom end of Goldsmith Avenue, decide to park at the top end of Goldsmith Avenue?Interesting......and very irritating.

Maybe they were unable to return home after Saturday's blockade for the lovely 'Playing Out'? Or maybe they were visiting friends and were too lazy to walk?Perhaps others can think of more reasons....

The street fills very quickly again after Playing Out so I doubt it's that.(maybe Claire is teasing!)There are more houses down the bottom end with drop curves, inhibiting parking by anyone else - so it spreads up? And some houses have drop curbs and three or more resident cars so take up extra spaces.When we come home around 2300, we often can find no parking at all down the bottom end: I tend to go to St Dunstans, my husband to go further up the road. random really.

Must be drivers protesting about the road closure.  Failing that, looking for a closer short cut down Grafton to the A40, rather than going round the houses.Why cant the kiddies play in the park, surely that would  avoid irate motorists, and a road closure.Me thinks I'm going to get told off by Sara.!!!!

Kids playing together with neighbours and social interaction are surely more important than the odd hrs of inconvenience with road closuresSad when own on slight incontinence is at the forefront and the wider community picture isn’t seen (and this is from someone who doesn't have kids -so no vested interest)

Someone driving home with "slight incontinence" may well appreciate being able park outside their own front door more than others!

How do you know they 'have a gap outside their own houses'.... I'm more worried about the snooping than the parking to be honest

Playing in the park in ones and twos doesn't build community - this is seen as a bit of an appointment. We had 25 kids at one point last time and maybe 35 for some part of the two hours. Time they are interacting with each other, scooting, skating, chalking, playing in the fresh(ish) air, not hunched over screens. And very few irate motorists...after all, residents can drive in (preceded by a steward) if they need to. It's closed for two hours, once a month, to through traffic - not much of an inhibition on the average motorist surely.And, I firmly believe, nothing to do with Doris;'s parking or Jeremy's snooping problems.
