Can anyone tell me if the bottom has fallen out of the selling of property in Acton as an estate agent has told me it has???

It can't be that bad if there's a new estate agent opening at 27 Churchfield Roadhttp://www.pam.ealing.gov.uk/portal/servlets/ApplicationSearchServlet?PKID=170303

The media have been talking about a dramatic slowdown in the market.

I think it because the conditions for mortgage lending have become very stringent. (which is a good thing, I believe). Prices in London have become ridiculous. My daugher and her soon to be husband have only been able to buy less than half a flat on shared ownership, and they both have good jobs. Heaven help anyone who doesn't.

BBC London news are reporting on the housing shortage and possible solutions all week in their 6:30 slot, Chris. Might be worth a watch. I've set it to record.
So why do the people who want to build on this land seem so keen on building four flats which they will try to sell for megabucks? (See my posting re Planning permission)

I don't think so - it may have slowed a bit according to one estate agent- certainly has in other parts of London - but we have the crossrail factor and that it was relatively under-valued before. And it's different for different sorts of property I believe...family homes still at a premium.

Only going on my road really. One three-bed 1930s semi sold for 100k over asking price in a couple of weeks in the spring; almost identical properties now sitting on the market.
On the directive of the mega rich who are hell bent on a second round (if not more)of the pillaging of Russia, we may see the value of our homes halved, when Putin is cornered and the bear bites back. Shall we take a vote.Punish Putin = Value of your home is halved.Punish Israel = Same as above.Punish the mega rich with a tax they actually pay = keep dreaming.LOOKS LIKE PUTIN HAS HAD IT.

There may be Russians in the Acton area, (you occasionally hear it spoken in park and train) so I follow that, but there are no Israelis are there? Not since the Albion was sold aeons ago. So why is punishing Israel relevant?
typo, I meant Iceland Reykjavík has summoned Kerry so 'mowing the lawn' season is about to end...meanwhile lets go back to our bbc, nbc, sky, cnn, fox, reporter who has just learned that Putin is indeed the grandson of.....
Rasputin! How did I miss that, so overt its covert.
