My wife and I once took a young boy to Ealing Hospital A&E and it wasn't a pleasant experience. Apart from having to wait ages between being seen to, there were many unsavoury characters hanging around - drunkards, addicts, smelly patients, others being sick on the floor, screaming children and women, the police restraining and finally arresting someone - altogether a frightening and unpleasant time. I don't know how the staff stand this work atmosphere - all credit to the staff.
