Iranian door to door charity

This evening a lady knocked on my door claiming that she was from an Iranian charity, she was quite keen to come back when convenient, we were just sitting down to diner.I told her I would not sign up for anything on my door step and she got gradually more annoyed with me saying I could give cash, no cash, no problem, I could use a card...in the end I said I was committed to other charities and was clearly annoyed with me as she left. She did not show me any badge.I get really annoyed with these callers who start off really sweet and polite when you answer the door but practically spit in your face if you don't give them what they want.

Sounds like the same sort of thing going on in Chiswick a few weeks ago. All sounded very bogus.

Someone called round here too - but seemed to want me to sign a petition not give money. Was busy and didn't stop to fin out details

We haven't had anyone from an Iranian charity calling on us but we do get quite a few younger people selling household products and they begin with a pleasant cheerful approach and when they're told that we don't buy from 'cold callers' at our doorstep, they get rather unpleasant in attitude. They are also rather persistent, which is annoying. Btw we're in Ealing.
