successful prom Venues for high school

Ellen Wilkinson does not hold a prom night so I am looking for a venue that will hold one for the students leaving next year. I would be grateful for ideas, comments and how much tickets were sold for for?One idea we tentatively have is a river boat, but local might be good.

OK sadly not constructive comments but from experience the questions that can arise are:Will they all be over 18 ?Will you allow alcohol ?Prom nights are usually mixed sex but EW is a girls school will they be inviting male guests ?How will that go with the girls parents ?Some of those questions might address why they haven't had a prom night so far.Personally I'd never put a bunch of teenagers on a boat if I had to ensure their safety !

How about the old Canarvon Hotel (is it Doubletree now) at the intersection of Uxbridge Road and Gunnersbury Avenue (near Ealing Common tube and reasonably close to the school)?  A friend had a family event there some years ago and the room was lovely.
