Rubbish garden waste service

Since the new waste and recycling contract started, I have resisted paying the £40 extra for garden waste as a protest and as a reaction to the generally poor service provided by Veolia or whoever it is now. However this year, I decided to bite the bullet. Subscribed early this month and put the green bags out on the correct day. They weren't taken. Neither were they picked up the next day despite the fact that I reported it both on-line and by automated phone service. More phone calls, tweets, etc today. Is it worth it? Not so far it isn't. It's now Day 3 (not counting Saturday and Sunday) of green waste cluttering up the front garden.

The collection service is awful, I've had to chase so many times, the only way it is collected is if you finally manage to reach the supervisor and he then personally checks the collection has been completed for about 6 weeks, other wise, sadly it just does not happen and you are back at square one.

I had months and months of dreadful service and just complained again and again, even writing 'yours disgusted' type letters on real paper, copied to everyone... Supervisors got involved and eventually everything started to work and has recently, touch wood, been OK (apart from the fact that the operatives managed to trash our green wheelie bin, which is now stuck together with duck tape!)

Agreed. Its a terrible service. Mine has been forgotten countless times.
