Increased dumping of rubbish on the streets

There seems to be a growing trend of rubbish being dumped around the Churchfield Road area. Recently there have been fridges, tyres, mattresses (one on the corner tonight) and a sofa tonight on Myrtle Road.I hate to be a 'curtain twitcher' but if anyone hears or sees it happening, a photo on your smartphone sent to the council/police may help.

Unfortunately a lot of people don't seem to be able to manage their waste very effectively despite all the collections.  When it comes to a holiday or the end of a tenancy this becomes more obvious. You also have rogue landlords and managing agents and builders at this time of year as well as the tenants with too much stuff. It is s shame because a lot of stuff which might have been reuseable gets left out in the rain and then isn't.  One of the good things about the recycling rewards scheme is that there is more information on there including where your nearest recycling banks are.  If you haven't looked then do have a look.    www.greenredeem.co.uk/ Offering neighbours and friends a hand when they are moving would also help.  We always used to put each others' bins out when we went on holiday.  Sadly neighbours don't seem to talk to each other so much nowadays.  Dumping waste is so anti-social.

Yes, anti-social behaviour is one thing, but the car tyres and the quantity of fridges made me wonder if this was part of something more 'organised'. Which would be concerning if this became part of someones regular route. But I haven't seen it actually happen so difficult to know.

Unfortunately, it sounds more like fly tipping which is a different thing entirely.  Someone turns up in a white van, offloads their cargo, and drives off.

Probably after charging someone for removing their rubbish! I believe some Councils do free collections perhaps this might be the way to go, it would certainly work out cheaper than having to do a collection of dumped waste!There will always be rogue landlords and those who just couldn't care less about their environment if course. If possible they should be names and shamed with a hefty fine added!

If it's big items like fridges and mattresses, Ealing Council will pick them up, but need to be notified.  There is a bulky items collection, which is generally free:  http://www.ealing.gov.uk/info/200969/refuse_services/264/bulky_items_collectionSimply request the collection online.

Ealing Council charges £20.00 for bulky items max of 8 per collection

In North London friends in a house divided into flats used to share the Bulky Collection with the other flats so that it didn't cost them as much and they could all make use of it.

All this information would be really helpful for whoever is dumping the furniture...hopefully they read this site.This evening I walked past a truck packed with junk furniture (and a sign saying 'Office Clearance'' on the side), close to the pizza place on Churchfield Road. I assumed he was removing unwanted furniture but if there is a pile there in the morning, it would appear he was dropping off.
