New family in Milton Road

A family have moved into Milton Road and they are now socialising in the street from as early as 5:45am. A whole group of them have been talking extremely loudly and playing music, etc. we can hear them though our double glazed windows and they are a few houses down from us, feel sorry for their immediate neighbours. I hope our beautiful street doesn't change as most of our neighbours are really sweet and respectful .

The music wasn't even the main problem. There were lots of people between the ages of what looked like 25 and maybe 45 and they were hanging around outside their door and had 2 card parked outside both full of people with the doors open. I've never seen anything like it. They were just laughing and shouting and obviously all drunk. Spoken to a neighbour who didn't sleep a wink on Friday and had to work from 9-7 on Saturday but there are so many of them and they are so rowdy, what can 2 ladies really do? I didn't want to call the noise police because they would've come to my door and honestly I'm scared if they who complained.

Tanya. That sounds awful. I hope it was just a one off event.Noise nuisance services always speak to you on the phone first. You could ask them not to come to your door and in my experience they came and listened to the noise and dealt with it. They did not come to me.They do not say who contacted them. Often these things happen when the noise team is off duty. The first thing they would do is as ask you to keep a diary of times and duration of noise so its not an immediate solution. In my case they got the police to go round. haven't had any noise since.

Hi I had the same experience with noise nuisance. They were excellent and very supportive. They asked me to report each occassion of noise via the Ealing Council web site so they had a formal record.Good luck sorting

The 'noise police' will not come to your door. Call them up, give them the details, they will then call at the offending address, and then call you back to ask you if the noise has stopped.They will then send you a noise diary to record exactly when you hear noise in the future, which they will then use to make a case against these people.I am a big believer in 'quiet enjoyment' of your property - the one time I had to call, they were excellent. I would very much encourage you and your neighbour to get on to this fast, because you will not be implicated and you should be allowed to enjoy your peace and quiet.

The thing to do is to report each incident, and get your neighbours to do likewise. The council and local police keep a log of incidents and will be more inclined to act if there is a continuing nuisance rather than it being perceived as a one-off.
