clashing noise between 12.30.am- 4am this morning Lynton road

Was anyone else disturbed by loud continual clashing noise coming from Lynton road/ Pierrepoint area in the small hours this morning? I eventually got to sleep about 4 am and it was still going on. A loud clash like steel on steel and then a thud a few seconds later. I have heard this going on during the day last month but just assumed it was building work and it didn't really bother me as we were busy. However, last night was a real disturbance. Anyone know what was going on?

Can't get this system to load the URL with all the info. Check my twitter account @juliangbell It is piling works associated with the Crossrail dive under at the Acton Mainline sidings. More disturbance to come unfortunately.

At the Horn Lane resident's meeting yesterday, we were presented with a note from Crossrail stating that piling would take place on the night of Saturday 13 September and daytime on Sunday 5 October. No other piling planned 'until Christmas'.

Thank you so much for this info. I will warn my neighbours as it transpires many people were disturbed last week. We are really pleased about Crossrail though so at least it is in good cause!

Confirmation come through that piling works will take place today between 2pm and midnight.
