Horn Lane industrial site/resident meeting September
A short note on the residents’ liaison meeting about a week ago. Most of the usual people there, including Angie Bray, but no councillors or Julian Bell.Planning conditions for Hansons are still not in place: perimeter landscaping is still not agreed, noise shielding for the conveyor belt is agreed but not in place. The noise from the tannoy is a mystery to them. Gowing and Pursey went in June, the new waste transfer operator (J. Simpson) started up on 2 September.Much talk about cleaning up the site access road to reduce dust levels. A deep clean of the road in August seems to have had some impact on dust levels. Aggregates and Hanson have wheel washing facilities for their vehicles but Crossrail do not – so we asked why not?Aggregates and Hanson have offered to do periodic cleaning of the main road but the council’s parking department will not allow them to use the bus lane (talk about not seeing the big picture). Who is responsible for enforcing the weight limit on Acton Main Line bridge - the police or the council? Julian Bell promised at the last meeting to investigate but as he wasn’t at this meeting, we’re none of the wiser.
