Looking good Acton.

I don't live here any more but I've just spent the week in W3 flat sitting for a friend and it's impressive to see the small changes around Acton - and all for the better! Bake Me, a new cafe and soon to be a new Japanese restaurant on Churchfield Road. Even the High Street is looking a bit brighter. Change may be too slow for many locals to notice, but it's certainly happening.

Yes, I also have noticed an improvement in Acton recently. Maybe Acton's going to be like Notting Hill and improve and change into an attractive and desirable area of London - I had very cheap "digs" in NottingHill during the late 1950s and it was dire then, but look at the same area now!

It's a crying shame that the building next to sainsburys in churchfield road is still empty though. Does anyone know what's happening to it or why it's empty?

I used to live in council flat in Central Acton from 1991 to 2005 and now live in quiet West Acton, it's like a sleepy bit of countryside.More to the point, every time I drive to Acton High Street I'm more and more surprised with the big improvements. The new library looks like something you would see in Central London, beautiful breweries and global food stores. My favourite streets in West London is Churchfield Road, Northfield Avenue and Pitshanger Lane. Love the village feel and variety of independently owned businesses.

I found out that the big shop next to Sainsburys on Churchfield Road is tied up in a complex and drawn out probate problem - hence it's remaining empty.
