Sky? Virgin? BT?

Our Sky box has stopped working. Since the only way they will supply us with a new one is if we upgrade our package, I would love feedback from anyone who has experiences - good or bad - with other media suppliers or whatever they are called. We are with Virgin for our broadband, so could switch to them - or BT. We want a basic package plus Sports.

My brother is having a hell of a time with Virgin in the evenings. He says the speeds are fab during the day but appalling in the evening when the public gets home. He has had to install an extra ADSL to cope. He is v. cross and things they are defrauding him of £30 per month. Also, he says, their customer service is rubbish.But he is in Epsom, Surrey so only the rubbish CS complaint may apply.

Thanks. Have have managed to squeeze a much better offer out of Sky. They will supply new wireless box - hope that doesn't mean we will have probs with speed in the evenings - and for less per month than we pay at the moment. It's an upgrade for 8 months and then we can go back to what we are paying now. Bizarre but I'm not complaining. Too much effort to switch over.

Hi Clare, Can I recommend in future that if you fail to get satisfactory customer service from Sky - an email to Jeremy Darroch, the CEO at jeremy.darroch@bskyb.com or ExecCustEnq@bskyb.com will see you put through to the Escalations team - have done this in the past with both Sky and BT and have had satisfactory results.
