Bus No 70 - TFL Consultation

Only just found out about this consultation and have said no to this if it means losing the 70 bus stops on Steyne Road/Horn Lane.

I've already responded to TFL about this.  Agree totally with you about the loss of the Steyne Road/horn Lane stopsllly since the loss of a stop in Acton High street.  A bus from Gunndersbury to Acton would be good though, especially when the overground chucks us all out at Gunnersbury!

Responded in favour as I think the benefits of the enhanced transport links to Acton Town station and Gunnersbury outweigh the  extra 2-3 minute walk from Horn Lane/Steyne Road to the King Street bus stop.

Nicholas - if I read the TFL information correctly, the bus will not go to King Street, meaning that people wanting to go to Morrisons/post office or market will have to either use the Old Town hall stop or the stop which is almost opposite to the Police station.  Not as bad returning as the bus will stop in Market Place. Since the bus stops have been altered in Acton High street those of us with mobility problems are having longer walks - I've more or less stopped using the high Street because of this.

The 440 already goes to Gunnersbury Station - even if you do go on a bit of a 'magical mystery tour' to get there, so not sure why the 70 needs to change.....

For those of us living beyond Acton High Street it would make a change of bus unnecessary

the new 70 route will link East Acton to Chiswick Park via Acton Town. For those living closer to the A40 it will mean they no longer need to walk 15 mins to the High Street for the E3

Could have done with the new proposal this evening.  Signal failure at Gunnersbury, no under or overground trains running.  Due to go to the orange Tree theatre - missed out on this, took 1 1/2 hours to get back from Gunnersbury.  Not happy.  As for the 440 bus, I've no idea where it goes from, but it's certainly not ourside Gunnersbury station.
