street  cleaning  a  joke

our  street  is  full  of leaves   broken bottles and  plastic bottles  and  garden  waste  in  black  bags they  came  to  clean  2  little  green  bags they  picked  what  a  joke online  council  site down  going  to  phone  now  god  help  us  with  the  cut  backs  i  know  people  are to  blame  leaving  rubbish  out for  days b4 collection  day  and  garden  waste  in  black  bags  but  when  a guy  sees  glass  etc  they  should  pick  it  up we  are  on  newton  ave  brouncker  rd

John, our streets haven't been cleaned properly for weeks now. Leaves have been left blocking drains, scattered on the pavements causing a hazard for some. I have reported this to the council before but nothing happened.I had a bad fall in October after tripping on an item which looked like a futon or bed base and I reported this flytipped item 1 week before but it was not collected. The streets are in a worse state than ever before and even when rubbish collection day comes around thr mess left behind by the refuse collectors a disgrace! Litter picking is really not the answer.I am referring to Brougham Road, Allison Road, Faraday Road and Birkbeck Avenue, but many streets in Acton are just as bad.

We have a Council bit at the bottom of Berrymead Gardens and the amount of general rubbish that folk are depositing around it is really annoying. Especially on the Grass Bank as well.

i see  that  tony was  going to  vets  the  other morning  seen  a cab  driver  cleaned  the  car out  and  dumped  his  rubbish let  a  shout  at  him  he  quickly picked  it  up and  left

Berrymead Gardens is awful, walking up from my flat on Weds, litter everywhere. It really is an terrible service! But guessing moaning at the council will probably might get a response after two months (like they did with a council tax enquiry!!).

I put up a notice on the fix my street website and they cleaned it all away 2 days later. I have a problem with builders leaving their polish beer cans as well as other rubbish outside my house, it drives me nuts!! Honestly, can they seriously drink while on the job and who do they think throws it away?

Agree.  So far, since January, we (Heart & Soul) have spent just short of £1,700 on commercial bin bags and cardboard recycling strips and yet still, after complaining 3 times to Ealing Council, spent 45mins cleaning up our stretch of pavement yesterday as missed collection Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.  Since the removal of the public bin opposite Sainsbury's our waste has become a free for all.  If it's not picked up we spend the first hour of a very early start to the day tidying up after the foxes and the general public who balance their rubbish on our sealed bags.

After our bins were emptied today we discovered that there was a black plastic dustbin bag full of rubbish which was lying in the middle of the street next to ours, contents scattered over the road.

I walked along Spencer Road this afternoon. Five separate pieces of rubbish on the ground, including some dumped mattresses and a bed base as well as cardboard boxes on the corner of Shakespeare Road. Bin day was Wednesday. Yes I have reported it, but if shouldn't have been necessary as the sweepers should have been along.

Surprise, surprise, this morning we had no less than 3 men with hand held machines blowing leaves along the street. The problem with thaat is, most of them were actually blowing into resident's gardens!Surely a machine to suck up the leaves would have been more beneficial? I did get an apology from one guy when he seen me trying to sweep the leaves in my front garden.

Maire,I too have reported the mattresses and bed base in Spencer Road - so let us see how long it takes for them to remove them!We have had black sacks and a duvet left in our street this week. Reported these also.I was told that they 'litter-pick' each week and that the refuse and recycling teams should clear up any spillages, but this never happens.

The service seems to be going from bad to worse. I can't understand why dumped mattresses and so on are left in the street for a week before being collected.Those responsible for throwing mattresses and furniture in the street should be heavily fined, I presume the problem is finding the culprits.
