logging in problems

I have been having problems logging on to the various community websites this past couple of days which can be very frustrating.This happens on the forums regularly, is there a solution?

I've had it too - here and Ewhich I don't use generally went on to experiment)sometimes it rejects me conclusively, other times will allow access post logging on - again.Its a bore.I think it's just down to antiquated technology - these forums are old and haven't been updaed much by all accounts so they are ropy in all sorts of ways: the search function being a prime example.Still, it's free and there are people on it and NeighbourNet owes us nothing - though as it wants advertising and eyeballs, it's as well to get these things sorted ASAP.

I have been having the same problemsThe last few days I have to log on every time I want to use the site.it no longer recognises me.

I emailed Neighbournet who said it was possibly attributable to year end problems and would be sorted if I wiped my cookies clean and changed the settings. As I had changed nothing myself, that seemed unreasonable. And I don't know how to do it on Mozilla Firefox anyhow.Neighbournet seemed to be implying it was my fault and I must be a ninny - but maybe I am reading too much into their emails.

It is hardly surprising that there are fewer people visiting the local forums, they are probably fed up trying to log on and have given up!

Yes Jean I agree with you - I think some forum users are a touch fed-up with having to logon each time. Its so tedious imo.

Sara, to clear 'stuff' on Firefox:top right hand corner, 'Open menu',click on 'History, Clear recent history',choose what to clear (cookies, cache, etc.)and a time range (last hour to everything).And yes, I had to log in (again) to post this!

Thanks so much for that - followed instructions - cleared cookies and cache.Made not the slightest bit of difference - still had to logon to post this.Grrr...

In fact, it's now worse!Comes up with error messages as well...Ho hum. Back to edgy e-mail communication with Neighbournet.

Good luck getting it sorted with NNet Sarah. I have to say, I haven't had a problem. I log off every time I leave the forum in the evening and only log on if I have something to say.
