Yes, indeed. What a shame it hasn't possible for a more genuinely community-serving organisation to take on this venue (Acton Arts Centre for instance) - bad news all round; this means that our street will be rammed with car revving and raucous revellers slamming car doors and shrieking till 5 am at the weekends again. (and nowhere to park for the residents of course, either) When the place first opened I seem to remember they got planning permission from the gullible council, against huge local opposition, based on the ridiculous boast that they were offering a high-quality venue that local people would be proud of having in Acton. As if. Very depressing news.
