RIP Michael from the Acton Central ticket office

Sorry to have to tell travellers on the Overground - but the lovely Michael - anchor of the ticket office at Acton Central for around 20 years - died on Tuesday of leukemia. He had been off work only since November. The station team - a close knit bunch - are ever so upset. There is a condolence book in the ticket office if anyone wants to pay their respects.

So very sorry to hear this news.  Michael was such a lovely man, always ready to help.  When it was Silverlink he was able to set us all right.  As you say, they are a great team at Acton Central.  Dear Michael will be greatly missed around Churchfield Road.  God rest his dear soul.

Apparently the funeral will be in Ireland but the bureaucracy involved is daunting.

Sad news indeed. I had been missing his smiling face and reliable wave but thought he was just off shift when I was zipping past. He was the very definition of helpful. Condolences to his family and colleagues.  Thank you for letting us know Sara.
