Thanks Helen. It is very concerning indeed. Pockets of land all over Acton will be "planted upon" with huge towers, for sure, if we don't protest very loudly at this particular "scheme", which it is, let's face it, done only for the money. My daughter, 7, and I were driving by Paddington flyover today and she spotted a 4 storey block out of the left-hand side of the car. She said "Mummy, will the towers be this tall?" pointing to the 4 storeys. "No" I said "look to the right....those are 10 and 14 storeys tall those blocks there and the biggest tower will be 20 storeys, almost double those" pointing to the many towers along the flyover. She gasped and said "I don't want to live in them!" Not that she will. We will have them looming in our back-garden. Even an innocent child doesn't wish to live in those monsters. I do hope our Council are listening closely. And yes, more overseas buyers, absent landlords, high rents for renters or empty flats, either way, a very bad situation.
