Registry Office 1950's
I hope it's ok to post this on here, (I am a new member). An elderly neighbour of mine died recently and I came across her wedding photo, taken sometime in 1957. She lived in Acton and the district of her marriage is shown online as Hammersmith. I was wondering if any older relatives knew where the registry office may have been back in the 50's. I believe it moved to the Town Hall at some point, but I would be interested to know if the building outside which she is standing in the photo, still exists.(I don't think there is any way to post a photo on here?) Also, I wonder if anyone knows what became of J.B. Underwood, Wedding Photographer, Balfour Rd. The exact address given on the photos just seems to be a residential address which I'm assuming now has no association with the photographer. (My reason for asking is that I would like to try to get hold of a copy of the wedding photos, but I realise this is a very long shot given how many years ago it was!) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
