Churchfield Cafe

I notice Churchfield Cafe is getting a bit of a refurb - anyone know what the plans are?

Hi Lucy - thank you!  Once we have got the refurb out of the way we will be concentrating on the menu and looking at all the options.  It is certainly something we could consider.

Jayne – Welcome to the street! I didn’t realise that the café had new owners. I used to go there years ago, a lot. More recently I have taken more of an interest in animal welfare and I don’t think they did free range eggs when I asked. Will you be doing free range eggs and outdoor reared pork sausages by any chance?

Field? Open Sunday. I often go and have coffee and read the papers there after Mass. There is lunch but not traditional English. Still delicious. The Station House and the Dragonfly brewery do roasts.

Hope it stays a good 'traditional caff' and not a gentrified version.  Sometimes you just want a good full English rather than the sun-dried tomatoes and organic ciabatta type stuff!  Personally I find some other cafes in the area provide quantity rather than quality - I would rather have a smaller portion of good quality, properly cooked food than a huge plate of tasteless grease.  Would enjoy Sunday opening too.

Got to agree with Peter. There's now a couple of really good greasy spoons on Churchfield Road. I moved here from Hammersmith, just next to Cafe Plum http://www.cafeplum.com/ which Churchfield Road is crying out for - the brunch menu especially http://www.cafeplum.com/todays-menu

Acton is  crying out for a brunch place not the greasy spoon ...just had lunch in Broadway Market Hackney and an example of what Churchfield road could become...change your menu and like the winebar there is a market . Time to change and watch the profits grow

Hi - we are looking into doing that - I know the previous owner used to open on Sundays and then stopped.  I used to be a regular there on Sundays myself!

Hi, Yes, we are having a refurb of the interior over this weekend and all being well reopen on Tuesday.  Exterior refurb and new furniture to follow soon.  Same menu at the moment but we will be tweaking and adding to it over the coming weeks.  Hope to see you in there......

Not sure of the exact plans but the new owners, who've been there since the New Year, are local and very nice people.  They want to keep it as close to authentic as possible, as the cafe has been such a success.  My husband goes in there with our daughter once a week and they love it.  Think it'll be a lick of paint, replacement furniture, perhaps?  The owners have style, so I'm sure it'll be lovely.
