Jean, it seems to me that the Leader of the Labour Council last night seemed very keen to remind the gallery with Ealing Central-Acton voters in it, that we hold power because it can go either way in our area and, with this in mind, we would be wise to make it known what we will and will not stand for and that we will vote against any party (national or affiliated and supported by Local Council) who doesn't LISTEN TO ITS PEOPLE and we will vote for the party that does.  So, from where I'm sitting (and I am a floater and yet to be convinced entirely) I clearly see that both the Local and the National parties are one and the same thing and that was made clear to me last night by the constant reminders from Labour Councillors to vote Labour at the election!  So, when I hear that our Labour Council voted for the Oaks, are pro cramming as many people into small areas by way of building highrises at the cost of existing residents (they are blaming Boris for this and his revamping on the laws, which may be true but our Local Council do have power of their own to veto such awful developments) and make residents work so hard to oppose developments which frankly should have been headed off by Council Planning Officers at the pre-planning stages, I am inclined to think I will vote for the party whose Local Council in this area did far more for us than others. I've been asking the parties to convince me, but the more I hear, the more I make my mind up and become less of a floater.
