Special Meeting re Friary Park: Tuesday, 28 April, 7.30pm

Yes, I thought Mr Freeman was being smug, when he said about the assurances. This council is arrogant in the extreme. What the council wants to do is create a density of people and units. In other words number crunching. Friary Park is suburban. The point to remember about Cataylst is they are NOT adding any more social homes, they are only replacing what was there.  The rest of the development is for sale.

Congratulations and grateful thanks to the residents of FriaryGreen and surrounding streets for turning out in such numbers and being so patient and polite during a very long meeting. Well done to Chris Petrie and his committee. It was an interesting meeting. The key point for everyonei is that the designation for the area is SUBURBAN but Catalyst believe that it will be designated as URBAN, which comes with permission for higher density and taller buildings. As Mr. Freeman remarked, why would they spend all that money if they hadn't been given some assurance?It doesn't take much imagination to see the tall buildings marching down Horn Lane to the Oaks now does it? We must work together to see what can be done

Thanks to everyone who attended and took part in the meeting tonight regarding Catalyst Friary Park regeneration.  It was great to see so many people attend - clearly very concerned residents.I have to say it was brave of Martyn Freeman at attend! Thank you to all invited guests for coming along to face the questions.Did we get answers?  What are your thoughts?
