Nepal earthquake emergency appeal

Dear all,In my other life (apart from being an Acton resident) I work for the international development charity ActionAid.ActionAid is currently launching an emergency appeal in response to the earthquake in Nepal - a country where we have worked for many years.If any of you wish to donate  - ActionAid has a donation page which I thought I would share. St Mary’s church (near Morrisons) is hosting a Concert for Nepal on Saturday 6 June at 6.30pm. There will be a variety of music from Japanese Taiko drumming to gospel singing and a classical Nepali singer. Tickets will be available on the door: £12.50 adults, £5 for children over 14 (children under 14 free). There will be a bar and food in the interval. All proceeds will go to helping earthquake relief work in Nepal.

Hi All,As you will be aware there has been a second major earthquake in Nepal.The extent of the disaster is still unclear because the epicentre was in some of Nepal's most remote areas that were only just picking themselves up.But latest reports are that 40 people are confirmed dead. The renewed trauma for local people is also expected to be huge.ActionAid has worked in Nepal for more than 30 years and has been at the heart of the emergency relief programme.Last time many of you Actonites responded with great generosity - so I thought I would renew the appeal.So if any of you want to give (or re-give) please go here.http://www.actionaid.org.uk/
