NO HOTEL  NO  FLATS - SAVE OUR GREEN CORRIDOR, SAVE OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD AND SAVE OUR CITY!!

I AM STILL REELING OVER THE HOTEL APPLICATION A TOTAL SHAMBOLIC DECISION TO DEFER for the THIRD TIME!!WARA (West Acton Residents Association) Nearly won the refusal of the Hotel Application which was unnecessarily deferred mainly by Tory Cllr Joanna Dabrowska on that night! She has since explained her reasons but members refuse to accept her reasons as the panel had the opportunity prior to the Planning Committee day to consult the legal department to refuse on policy grounds.  Instead of refusing the hotel application the Councillors dithered about what CCTV camera there’s going to be in Park View or where they might park 12 meter coaches that must not be there anyway. It is blatantly obvious HOTEL proposal is wholly unsuitable for numerous reasons. Rubber stamping of over developments will not be tolerated any more!!! Along with Jonathan Notley's help WARA won the refusal of the Mcdonalds application!!  Now the Hotel application has been postponed till after the elections and I have to start all over again my demonstrations but my residents and I are not giving up the fight!! However unlike the Bus Depot which I was supported tooth and nail from the previous MP Andy Slaughter, GLA representative Richard Barnes and all of the party politics councillors! Fantastic support we had but these days its about which developer has the most monies to build and Ealing Planners do not consult we residents thoroughly. Once finished with us the planners and developers will move onto your area so lets Unite in Solidarity to get the best candidate who will fight tooth and nail for us! Its your choice and make that informed choice ask questions of the candidates in writing what commitment they have towards stopping inappropriate over developments and how committed are they to saving our green corridor, our neighbourhood and our city!!

For your info Joanna and Maire - just because an explanation is given does not mean we have to accept it?  Think about it why we are not happy with your responses which I have explained to both.....here's why! Angie Bray did not turn up to any of the 3 planning committee meetings which were deferred. It should be in her diary what is happening in her local constituency.  5 years of organising meetings has not been fruitful or effective. Her job as an MP was to stand up for us not say its the labour council fault and not say direct your angry questions to the labour led council!Furthermore "There was enough accurate information available to reject the Gypsy Corner Hotel planning application. The fact that the hotel was 6 storeys and that the "scale and massing" did not respect the existing residential community was not in dispute. The density was 422 habitable rooms per hectare, which is urban density which is not appropriate in a suburban area. Joanna Dabrowska wondered if the density might actually be double if the divisor referenced the entire site. Whether it is 422 or 844 is irrelevant- both figures are too high for this location.Either or both of these reasons could have been used to reject the application.Instead Joanna Dabrowska made two moves to get the application deferred until after the election. The first had no takers. In the second, Councillor Woodroofe took the bait to second it, and then all the councillors voted like toppling dominoes to defer. This farce is all on camera and makes painful viewing. No wonder voters are disillusioned with the mainstream parties. A performance like this only adds to their disillusionment.

Thanks Tony its much appreciated what you have said here! I cannot stand complacency of any of our councillors! All are now happily contributing to the elections but I just want these local councillors of all parties to stand up and be accountable to us residents!! We voted them in we trusted them so to speak our lives in their hands!! Why then are we at a loss of their non commitment to push the green corridor which has been sitting empty!  TFL needs a kick up their backsides for selling their lands to these greedy developers. Ealing Council should have taken over the land by delegation of powers from the central government! We are the tax payers we asked of this during the bus depot battle grounds remember? You have seen me in action along with the WARA team then against the bus depot and how WARA worked across the party politics! I am prepared to work with any of the local councillors provided they got the 'fire in their belly' like mine to passionately fight for the residents against this rezoning of suburban to urban by the Ealing Councillors! Yesterday's Friary Green RA meeting I told how it is to Labour Cllr Kate Crawford too who than attacked me publicly after the meeting which I felt embarrassed that she could not take the heat of questions! I am fed up of Kate referring to policy this policy that even at the planning committee meeting that dreadful night!! My burning question everyday is why can't all of our councillors immaterial which party they are from have the tenacity to fight back Boris Johnson who is hypocritical to us particularly when he refuses to build 'Rabbit Hutches' high rises in his wonderful constituencies of South Ruislip and Hillingdon!! Why must Ealing be a dumping ground for the carbuncle we are faced with which is going to be a crippling paralysis to adjacent areas!!?
