any news  on  the  start  date acton  was  promised  so  much  and  nothing  been  delivered i  see that  co op  or tesco  are looking  into  opening  a new  small  shop  in  acton station sq in  south  acton

It's only a few weeks since the Oaks redevelopment got the final go ahead after 18 months of legal challenges. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/news/west-london-news/fight-over-oaks-shopping-centre-9036097I am sure the development will steam ahead now, but it would have made no sense for the shops to extend their leases with the timing of the development in doubt. While no-one should stand in the way of the democratic right to challenge development proposals, there is a hidden price paid by the wider community through the consequent loss of amenity as a result of the process.

I have been asking the same question but it seems no-one has an answer. The Oaks is dire now, they closed the shops faf too soon in my opinion. We frequented Iceland, Poundstretcher etc but all that remains is the 99p store.Ealing Broadway offers more for shoppers now and that is a sad state of affairs. As I mentioned before on this forum, Acton is the Cinderella town and will probably be like this for the forseeable future.
