You are kidding, right?OK, assuming you are not winding me up...It builds community - people with and without children come out and have a cup of tea and a chat. People are helped to get to know their neighbours.Children play with nearby kids and are less isolated, less screen-centred and, with luck, less obese. They are also happier.People who have lived in our road even longer than me (some 30 years or more) say it's fantastic to hear children play outside again and reminds them of when they were growing up when it happened all the time. Not one neighbour has ever objected on the grounds of noise - quite the reverse.The whole point is that it's right outside where everyone lives - parks you have to arrange to go to, arrange to meet people at. For Playig Out - unless you are an organiser, you just step outside and join in. All it disrupts is traffic - only for two hours a month - and why should that take priority over children and community?
