Hi Sara. I thought I read on the Ealing forum you saying we didn't need anymore housing. Will double read that.I don't we do need to keep building housing.....if we build, more people will come. It is not the answer. The answer is to invest in our land elsewhere, other places, with business, longterm, and build more houses people actually want to live in not towers or flats (children need open spaces), and cram London to the hilt. It will not solve the problem longterm at all. There are plenty of homes laying empty. Tax them heavily. Address the standard of rented accommodation. We are obsessed as a nation with owning our own homes - other countries aren't. Make rents lower all round. Stop selling flats as investments.Anyway, back to the Mermaid plot. I agree with you - it is not appropriate, is disproportionate in scale and was nodded through.
