Dog visiting  / walking /  sharing scheme

My son 14 year old son is dog mad and would really like to own one. Unfortunately, at the moment I can't commit to the full time care of a dog and I have noticed there is some sort of scheme where people can dog sit / take dogs out. Does any one know anything about this or has a dog that would love to play, go for walks or hang out with us sometimes? We have a house and garden and are near Springfield park.My son's idea of heaven would be to spend hours throwing a ball for a dog that wants to play and then be stroked.

Google  Borrow my Pet and a few sites pop up. also use the local Forums such as Acton Friends, Acton Mums for Mums and other. take a walk in the park and make friends with dog owners. many would love to have a friendly place for their dog to stay when they go away. Rehoming centres need volunteers to walk dogs and some such as All Dogs Matter need temporary foster homes before dogs are fun a homeGuide dogs for the blind spend a year in a normal home being socialised before starting their training
