If this development is replacing the houses that were demolished for the now abandoned widening of the A40, then it will just put the population back to something like it was before.

Peter Millman, I hope you never find yourself on the end of a huge waiting list to get medical attention, especially urgent, or shunted around London with your children to take them to a school you were forced to take them to because the local ones are full, or perhaps need your GP's advice some time in the next 4 weeks or so, cos you may just find yourself queuing behind these people who are going to move into all the developments you seem to no problem with whatsoever. BTW, which colour are you this week?
