Public Meeting re Friary Park plans - Tuesday 28th July

The Friary Green Residents' Association are holding a public meeting (all welcome) following the Catalyst Housing exhibition re their plans for Friary Park, which take place this Friday and Saturday.  The public meeting will be on:Tuesday 28th July at 7.30pmSt Dunstan's Church Hall,Friars Place Lane,Acton W3 7AWTeas and coffees will be served.  All welcome.

They are entitled to their opinion, of course, and as a resident, of course, but to not declare a conflict of interest or possible bias by keeping the detail of "I am a Director of XX housing, which is co-owned by Catalyst and Ealing Council" is, wouldn't you agree, unethical and disingenuous, no?

Maybe the person in question thought people present might be interested to hear an alternative view? If they were a resident, then surely their opinion is as valid as anyone else's and shouldn't be dismissed as part of some grand conspiracy.

Last week at the Friary Park public meeting there was a resident who was clearly all for the Friary Park proposals to go ahead in their current format.  The resident concerned assured us that those of us who were in support of the campaign to ask Ealing Council and Catalyst to reconsider their plans were delluding ourselves and that the majority of Actonians really wanted the high-rise, high density plan!  Baffling, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.  The resident said she was a housing expert.  However, it has come to my attention that this resident, who was all in favour of the Catalyst build, actually works for a housing business which.....Catalyst and Ealing Council co-own!  So, this "housing expert" had hugely invested interest in all she said.  What do you think of that?  Will Catalyst and the Council stop at nothing to get what they want?
