Friary Park Pre-Planning Exhibition Fri & Sat this week

Catalyst Housing are holding a public exhibition/consultation tomorrow and Saturday.  The Friary Green Residents' Association have asked for 3D models of what the towers will look like and we've sent lots of questions, which we haven't heard answers to as yet (typically - they nor the Council give us any real answers to anything.)Tomorrow - Friday 24 July 2015 from 4pm – 8pmSaturday 25 July 2015 from 11am – 3pmat Friary Park Community Centre, Joseph Avenue, Acton W3 6NL.There is also a public meeting next Tuesday, 28th July from 7.30pm at St Dunstan's Church Hall, East Acton Lane, W3 7AW.

They cannot just reclassify an area as urban!  How?  Because it suits the planners? Or the housing quota?

It was a good exhibition and Catalyst say they may run another in September. I've got serious reservations about the road they plan to put through the estate, but more importantly, a senior Catalyst manager told me that all of Acton north of the Uxbridge Roadv is now classified as 'urban' because of Crossrail. I sincerely doubt it but will be asking first thing Monday. If you are easy about tall buildings at the bottom of Springsteen, then you have nothing to worry about.

The 3xhibitiin is from 11.00 to 3.00 so you have time. The community centre is at the back of the estate so just walk along the Drive and keep going. There are plenty of people there to answer questions. Most importantly Catalyst say that there proposals for 16 and 10 story blocks are in line with Ealing Council intention to make all of Acton 'urban' so tall buildings will be the order of the day.

I attended the session yesterday and it is very disappointing to hear that despite Catalyst's own admission of the message they received from previous consultation sessions firmly opposing high rise development in Acton Central, they are still going ahead with this in their plan. I would encourage everyone to attend today if at all possible.
