marlene - another thought - is there any building going on around you - a friend's cat went missing for a couple of weeks and had become, we think, locked or hidden in a house that was being renovated.  If she's a nervous cat she may well have done this.

Nina, Thank you for all your help. It is much appreciated.My neighbour is a mature and responsible cat owner and I just want to give her some support. I will get her to call Cats Protection.We leafleted the area yesterday - again. The first posters dissolved in the rain. The cat is micro chipped.Hope we have a happy ending.Marlene

marlene - I have logged this with Cats protection Lost and Found line, but it would help if you could phone them on 0208423 1403 and give full details.  have local vets been phoned, notices put up?  It seems more likely that she may have taken shelter from the rain and has got shut in somewhere.  Is she chipped?  hope she comes back soon.
