Ealing Council - dirty rotten scoundrels!
They're at it again - Ealing Council have been selling the family silver once more. This time it's land adjacent to Springfield House, Horn Lane. They've sold (or disposed of, as Ealing word it) the freehold for this land for the miserly sum of £60,000 to the Pat Doyle owned Horn Lane Developments Ltd (Pat Doyle seems to have an array of developments going on all over Acton and Ealing, not least the one at 62 Horn Lane, opposite Springfield Gardens). This forms part of the planning application for the Mermaid Carwash site. The residents around there had many objections to this planning application, not least that the flats that are being built with the 5-storey blocks are right up against their back walls. Nice that Ealing Council are helping these developers achieve their financial ambitions. At the cost to us. Where is the integrity? There definitely seems to be an Irish theme going on here - next we'll finding out that Doyle, Cahill (Catalyst), Pat Hayes (Ealing Council director of regeneration), Noel Rutherford (Ealing Council Built Environment) and a few more are all related by blood, went to the same school perhaps or maybe play cricket together at the Shamrock Club or some such venue. There I go again - off into the flights of fancy! What's next?
