Rave on A40 by B&Q
Hi all,I saw the posts from 'ActonHour' on Twitter about the disturbance around the trading estate/B&Q on Saturday night going into Sunday. It was quite worrying, as the pictures being posted were the location of my workshop!Anyway, found out a bit more when I went into work, for those on Highfield Rd, who I know had a sleepless night. It was a group who call themselves 'ScumTek', and it was their 10th birthday party! (named Scumtree) They've been breaking into warehousing and having raves for ten long years...They lured the security guard out by making suspicious noises around the back of the property, then threatened to set their 4 attack dogs on him if he didn't leave! He left and called the police/security co.I'm not sure why it then went on for so long - I presume sheer number of people involved. I think there were at least 3000 people there at one point, according to various social media I've found. So now the whole empty unit and yard are trashed, covered in graffiti and knee-deep in rubbish. Mainly balloons, nitrous oxide canisters and beer cans. The upside is there are now security officers with dogs and the police are cruising around. The 'scout' for the venue was a lad on a black scrambler- type bike, with a distinctive Hannibal Lecter mask attached over the headlight. Keep an eye out, if you have disused spaces near you! He was hanging around a lot last week.E
