Post Box on Hereford Road

Does anyone know what happened to the post box at the corner of Hereford Road and Julian Ave.  It has been smashed to bits.  Was it hit by a vehicle or vandalised? Will it be replaced?  Weird; never seen this before!

It was hit by a car which was bounding off having hit another car. Nobody seriously hurt but shaken. Several neighbours came out to help and the emergency services were called.
