Does our health and well-being matter?
Having read through some of the tweets on the redevelopment of Acton, one has to ask if our health matters, let alone our well-being. With the demolition of an estate, have the authorities considered the amount of pollution that will be produced, added to what we already breath in. What precautions will be taken to protect us from the dust that will be emitted? These massive skyscrapers that are planned will, certainly have an adverse effect on our health, physically and mentally. Also consider the blocking of light and loss of privacy by people being able to look in on us.How much are greedy developers giving the council to stash away in their secret Icelandic bank account?Have the planning committee approved this absolute monstrosity as it's not on their doorstep, along with some skulduggery?I can recall a small development somewhere around Lilie Rd and Dawes Rd. A few houses and blocks three high, overlooked by a twenty storey tower block. No privacy whatsoever. The council and developers know that high rise doesn't work, so why do they persist in doing it? Maybe it's nothing more than greed, greed and more greed.Where are the hospitals Gp's and schools coming from. Have they been planned for or will there be more pressure on the current amenities? From my understanding, the A+E at St Mary's Paddington is under pressure along with Charing Cross, Northwick Pk is phone ahead. All in all, greed and chaos
