Fly Tipping again!!!

Acton once again seems to be the dumping ground for unwanted maattresses and bed bases and the situation is getting worse.I have reported a partly burnt mattress & bed base outside Springfield Dentist in Horn Lane. A mattress outside Horn Lane Surgery, the bed base is not far away in Birkbeck Avenue. Then there is another mattress outside the HSS Hire Shop in Horn Lane.Not only that, if you walk along Horn Lane mattresses and other household items are just dumped outside Springfield House, and in the front gardens of private dwellings.In my road I counted 4 mattresses in the front gardens,, plus some unwanted household furniture. What on earth is happening to this area, it is a disgrace!

Report it as a place with fly-tipping to the Council.  You can use both the Council reporting process and the www.fixmystreet.com facility.  It should give those new guys the Council is employing somewhere to concentrate on.

I live on Horn Lane W3 6PP and some of misuse of public dustbins on that street is pretty awful. People from private dwellings (including neigbours whom I've witnessed sneaking out in the early morning to do this) are dumping their excess rubbish straight to the street bins or forming piles around the bins. I think some of the shops must also be doing it just because it is so constant and how can anyone produce that much rubbish?

That's nothing new with this current administration! Last October I reported a bed base/futon which was discarded in our road. It was still there a week later, unfortunately I was the one who tripped on a wire protruding out from the base badly injuring my knee etc.I complained to the Council but it actually took another 3 or 4 days before it was eventually removed.The service has definitely deteriorated over recent years.

Agree entirely - a decent environment is important for us all. The problem is either sheer laziness - or the lack of a vehicle to take large rubbish to the dump. Any suggestions for the latter? Perhaps a group could be set up to help...I fear the proliferation of bottles, cans and general litter on our streets proves sheer laziness is more likely the case. We are so lucky to live in a country with a system that works and bins which are regularly emptied. Why can't everyone use them? Or take their wretched rubbish home. I welcome the new scheme but wish everyone people recognized what is acceptable. Litter strewn streets are depressing and we all need some daily joy when we step outside. At least I do!

An old chair was dumped outside our house on Acacia Road ten days ago.I have reported it to the council online twice - despite promising that items are removed within 24 hours, it is still there!The borough services are in obvious decline.

You have to wonder why this obvious and effective solution wasn't instigated decades ago, under any of the Administrations, Tory, Labour or A N Other Party.Local Councils, all run by self serving dimwits the lot of them.

If a private firm stands to make a profit from fly tippers, they will probably enforce it ferociously. Just as private contractors enforce parking regulations. Just make sure you don't accidentally drop a handkerchief when taking your keys out of a pocket!

Reading the headlines on this forum - one can only hope that Kingdon Security will be very vigilant and tackle all the irresponsible people who think it is OK to dump mattresses and unwanted junk in our streets.I for one an fed up reporting dumped items but sadly getting them removed is a different matter. The bed base and mattress outside Springfield Dentist is STILL there. Perhaps their 24/7 survelliance cameras were not working at the time otherwise the cuplrits might have been caught by now!The mattress is also STILL lying outside the HSS Hire Shop in Horn Lane, that was dumped about a month ago!Today there is yet one more mattress fly tipped in Creswick Road near the junction with Horn Lane.What on earth is happening to Acton? It's a disgrace!

come  our  street  never  seen  it  so  bad  boolo bridge  road  lot  of  stuff  and  our  street  still  has  beds  etc  i  must  say  josh  our  south  acton  councillor  has  been  in  touch  so  hopefully  get it  removed  and  NOT ONE  SIGN  UP  IN SOUTH ACTON  about  fines etc

Waiting in traffic at West Ealing yesterday, I saw a sign saying that people dumping rubbish could face a £5000 fine or five years in prison! Can't imagine anyone being sent to prison as it would be a waste of a jail cell but if they have these draconian fines, maybe it's time they started enforcing them.

According to Ealing Council, items which have been dumped within the boundary of a property will NOT be removed by AMEY, it is therefore up to the owner of the land to deal with the problem.It has been over 3 weeks now that a mattress and bed base was dumped outside Springfield Dental Surgery. Many weeks have passeed since another mattress was dumped outside the HSS Hire Shop in Horn Lane.  It does not seem fair that people can just flt-tip maattress  and so on in front of someone else's property and they get away with it, but the unfortunate owners of the land then have to dispose of someone else's rubbish!

They have also started dumping things against the Council Bin at the bottom of Berrymead Gardens. It's being done in the evening as I don't see the stuff on my way home from work.
