Security risk at Ealing Perceval House
Yesterday, I was in room 59 of the self service computers in Perceval House and was logged on by a chap called Goodwin and who then left the room. I started to go to the page I wanted to visit when something at the moment of the screen caught my eye. I decided to open the image files and to my shock I had copies of someone's passport, blue badge and DWP letter in front of me. A council employee who is normally around the workstations called Yami came in the room to assist someone else and I tried to draw her attention by saying "Can I make you aware of something please" pointing to the screen. Unbelievably, her response was "No you can't!" and leaves the room. I think anyone in their right mind would be shocked at the response. A previous complaint about her submitted twice to her line manager called Ola receives no response, he states he never received them. As was stated by another employee he covering for her.I sat there thinking it doesn't seem wise to leave these details here or continue doing what I was doing. I called security and they sent someone straight away and they realised the severity of someone else's personal information clearly visible and Yami not doing anything was completely wrong. I made a further phone call to Helen Shacklock who sent Pespi Tagoe. The personal information present on my screen was resolved and they have decided to investigate Yami behaviour.Strange part was no one asked me if I took any pictures etc. Now imagine if someone could have...Even the door within the room for staff was open which meant I could have simply walked through. I did take a picture of this!Bottom line is, be careful of using the computers there as Ealing council employees don't really mind what information is left visible.
