In addition, the monitoring location is situated adjacent to a short term parking provision".I have just submitted a question to Ealing planning about that.

Thanks Paul.  I hope that Dr Jacqui Chin, Director of Public Health, Ealing, is going to decide to call for a Public Enquiry into the Horn Lane pollution issue.  My understanding is that she will make a decision very shortly and until she does so I would have thought Ealing Council would put on hold all these large developments.  Not so!  I am told even the Leader of the Council has backed our call for a Public Health Enquiry, especially as he lives not far from the polluted site himself.  Ealing Council planners decided that the huge Friary Park proposals didn't warrant a EIA (environmental impact assessment) even though the build is yards from Horn Lane industrial site and there clearly is a health issue in the area.  Those backing the call for a Public Health Enquiry please email Dr Chin in support of one:  ChinJ@ealing.gov.uk

PaulWe are very interested in applications to excavate basements in in that area. As far as we can see, the older houses were built to allow occasional flooding without too much damage. Enclosed basements will force the water to flow elsewhere, underneath the houses without basements for example. Can you see a poblem in the future? There are only a few of us interested so if you live between Friary Road and Graafton Road and have a cellar of your neightbours have, get in touch.
