A big tick to the developers who renovated 85 Churchfield Road

While Acton has recently felt like a playground for smash-and-grab developers it's nice to see some developers who are putting back into the community.The scaffolding has come down around 85 Churchfield Road (on the corner with Grove Road) - and an unloved Victorian building has been rendered beautiful.A quick look at the developer Uplift's website - reveals a team of architects who have an economic model that aims to make money by re-generating existing character properties. They also have a number other projects across Ealing and Acton.Given a choice between this type of developer and the seek-and-destroy merchants behind the Oaks etc - I know who I would invite around  for tea.

Hear, hear. The whole thing needs to be some form of loose partnership, developers, council and residents acting together with a shared theme. This may take more work at the planning stage, but if everyone emerges reasonably happy (or better) then it is well worth it.
