Ealing Social Services.

Let Adult Care Finance screw your life up, threaten to commit suicide, then Social Services get worried.  They even want to send a ambulance.There coming to take me away HeHe HoHo.Now the GP's are involved, wanting vulnerable person assessment.  Long live ESS and keep worried,Keep annoying them Nikki, they deserve all they get, including wheelie bins.  Need to access your desktop for the pollution pics for Public Health Enquiry.

That's marvellous Tony and I ma extremely happy that they have done well for you and your son. I agree that we should praise where praise is due and yes, most cases are dealt with very well and efficiently.I have never said otherwise.

As the parent of a disabled child, I have found Ealing Social Services to be absolutely fantastic with the support and advice they have given.  Those who complain and hurl abuse usually have no idea of the work-load and complexity of the cases Social Services deal with. The media are quick to report isolated failings but seldom bother to mention the thousands of cases which are dealt with in a positive and discreet manner, enabling hundreds of vulnerable and disadvantaged people to get on with their lives. The on-going cutbacks in public spending, mean that Social Workers now have an even harder job. They deserve our praise and support.

Well Gary , I.m not having a go at Ealing in particular but there's no need to fawn too much over them. They involve the work of human beings and human beings are flawed creatures. Many a child in care has been the victim of abuse whilst being in the care of social services, and if you don't think this is true go to Rotherham and have a word there.I know that they are a force for good, generally, as I made plain in my post but they are not perfect and don't show much humility when they are shown to be inadequate, imo.

You appear to have absolutely no appreciation of the checks, balances pressures and accountabilities that social workers work under. As someone who once had need to use them himself in the past some comments on here are clearly self serving with axes to grind without the full facts being made available. You just add to the destructive background chatter bashing social services and sapping public confidence in a valuable community service. BTW our social services are internationally widely admired.

They (the individuals involved) are a bit like the RSPCA in the sense that they usually do some good, but when they don't and temporarily destroy an innocent person's life via sometimes clumsy and myopic 'investigations',show little or no humility or remorse toward that innocent party imo. Then they blame 'the system'.

"Evil" is a very strong word, what is evil is how vulnerable people are left unprotected, I commend Social Services staff. A tough job usually well done.

And if that concern prooves to be wrong,do they apologize, vindicate and compensate the parents they have targeted? Of course they don't.These are evil people and they are protected by corrupt polititions who care more about their own status than the pain,suffering and abuse being perpetrated by the staff they are responsible for.

I'm glad we have them to interfere , there a great many abused children and women fleeing DV who  could do with their help. They interfere when a concern has been raised...
