Christmas Lights

Does anyone know when Acton High Street will start to look a bit like Christmas???  It is bad enough that The Oaks is almost empty, betting shops and estate agents seem to have taken over the High Street. The only decoration is the 3 brass balls outside the pawn shop!Ealing Broadway and Bond Street by comparison really look lovely, yes I am aware that it is still November but why is Acton always the last to get any decorations.Does Scrooge live here???

Rather sad really to see that a number of the lights are not even working.Years ago they used to have a Christmas Tree outside Morrisons.As for The Oaks - don't get me started!

Cold looking, eye-straining blue lights wrapped around each lamp-post. Doesn't look very Christmassy to me. Maybe they should add a fluffy blue cone to the Acton market place and pass it off as a Christmas tree too?

Christmas lights now twinkling on Churchfield rd and this afternoon they were being put up along the high st.

I'm a non-Christian who is more offended by Mr Wright's post than by any Xmas lights....though I hadn't really noticed their absence.

I just thought it's the time of yearwhen Christmas Lights might bring some cheerWhy should Acton be so neglected?Perhaps it no more than what I expectedBut I would like to know the reasonfor the reluctance to celebrate the season.Perhaps we had better go shopping in EalingWhere one can get into that Christmassy feeling!
