Another year, another fail. Went through the online renewal procedure, got to payment page, payment not processed. Went back to front page which said permit renewed, so would not let me proceed to payment page to try again.Went through the maze of parking services call options to try and speak to human. No chance. Left number for call back. Impressively, got a call back in 30 minutes. But even now, in 3 attempts, the system would not accept the visa card I use daily for all purchases. Used back up debit card instead. Permit renewed. According to the guy I spoke to, who was very apologetic and helpful, there is a system problem with the payment software used by Ealing Council for parking services and they are inundated with calls from people whose payments have not been processed by the website. Why do we have to put up with such awful, shoddy service from this Council? What's the point of shifting services to online and then not providing systems that work? Thankfully I now have 12 months of not having to deal with the Council to look forward to. Apart from the haphazard waste collection and street cleaning services. And the wheelie bins....
