churchfield rd is great.

I don't understand why people put bad things about business when we are all just trying we all work many hours and where not perfect but where trying so leave lavelly olone they were here before anyone George the reason why someone times they don't day helo is because the have something else on there minds.

Where did this thread spring from?I haven't seen anything on here for ages criticising Laveli's for poor service. I'm just chuffed they now stock enough spelt & rye bread on a daily basis - a response to customer demand.

I am a frequent visitor of all the bakeries and coffee shops in Churchfield road and I find them all to be really nice. Yes Lavelli is a small coffee shop and can be a bit of a tight squeeze when it's busy but they have always been nice to me. Maybe once in a blue moon they're less chatty and smiley but we are all human and a majority of the time they are lovely. I can't understand how people can come a local forum to say nasty things about local businesses because they are what makes our community great and we should be supporting them. Tim, I couldn't live without your shop either and thank you for sticking up for those ladies.

If we're discussing customer service in Laveli cafe then I find the one on Askew to be far more atmospheric with a lovely cosy feel on these cold days with a great menu (Eggs Benedict anyone?). I think it helps that the large area is far more pleasant for staff to work in. The one on Churchfield, where a heated conversation is shared by all whether they like it or not must be hard for staff nerves because they can't get their personal space. Having said that, my sister who visited from Brisbane two years ago was taken aback by the lack of cordiality and quality service in the Churchfield Laveli when we went for coffee but very happy with our visit to the Askew branch last year. Over in Brisbane customer service is paramount she told me.

Is this serious?! I often have things on my mind at work but will always say hello to my colleagues! When you are working in a customer facing role you must always acknowledge the customers regardless of what may be 'on your mind'
