Sad to hear of the death of local boy Alan Rickman.Born in Acton, went to Derwentwater primary and then won a scholarship to Latymer.

Did he visit Derwentwater?

Biography says he was born there (at home) as wellhttps://books.google.co.uk/books?id=1592I3Rk8VQC&pg=PT38&lpg=PT38&dq=%22alan+rickman%22+lynton+road&source=bl&ots=ctE-JOFlJl&sig=00tcguY31EWOo0gc5YISAZGfl1c&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj9-YmqtLTKAhVJRhQKHWDcD2YQ6AEIGjAA#v=onepage&q=%22alan%20rickman%22%20lynton%20road&f=false

He wasn't born on a 'council estate' - his parents lived in Lynton Road - I have found them on the Electoral roll for the year he was born....

Does anyone know which council estate he was born on?

Maybe the plaque could be enveiled at the cinema opening ... should give them enough time to get it built!

It is 25 years after death before a Blue Plaque can be put up, it would be really good if we could have some form of memorial. And maybe the Acton Curzon could open with Truly, Madly Deeply?

Very different in Truly Madly Deeply!

Didn't know he was a local boy - my most treasured performance by him is as the marvellously odious Slope in Barchester Towers. What a sad loss.

The family lived in Lynton Road until at least the 1960s.

I didn't know any of that - and even without it, terribly sad. 69 is a dangerous age this week isn't it?

Wonderful actor - sad, sad loss.
