Foxes out of control in Acton /Ealing

I was appalled walking home from North Acton to Acton high St. to see numerous gangs of up to 20 foxes approaching me with no fear . My friend on South Acton estate tells me the foxes now where hoods (only joking ) !! I am hoping the wheelie bins will make a difference , but if not we need an immediate cull !!

Many of us protect our black bags in a small ordinary sized dustbin and so the foxes can't tear them open.  Others spray their black bags.  If you use the food waste bin and recycle using the facilities that the Council provides for your Council Tax then there is less of a problem if at all.  Whenever I've seen bags torn open overnight by foxes it was because there was food in them and this is very visible.  We waste too much food.

I am devastated as the beautiful fox a number of us have bee putting out food for the past two years was found in a black bin bag round the corner from us.Run over I expect or maybe poisoned from eating a rat full of warfarin. Hope his  mate will venture out on her own . She is such a nervous little creature.We shall miss Foxiie. He kept all the other vermin away from our black rubbish bags. They were never ripped open as he was well fed !!!

Wheelie bins make an area more unfriendly and intimidating.  Just take a look at Brent where you'll find them overflowing with unflattened cardboard and waste littered all around.  Nobody except undesirables would want to hang around them.  It's people that are the problem throwing away food unnecessarily and not using the facilities already available and taking responsibility for the safe and clean disposal of their waste and recycling.

I'd say I'm more worried by feral humans than foxes, after two stabbings  in two months

I leave my home on the South Acton Estate at about 3am every day and walk all the way to my work in Northfield Ave. and in the half hour it takes me I must see approx. 10 or 12 foxes every night, and I have never had any trouble with these beautiful creatures and find it fascinating to be so close to them.If I ever feel slightly concerned about them being to close I mearly clap my hands and they run away.Having said that they are pack animals and predetors and feel they should be properly monitored in case of a rabies outbreak [unlikley but possible] but I would rather have a few dozen foxes living locally than thousands of rats scampering all over the place. The thought makes my skin crawl

Apparently they are good at catching rats, and I know which I prefer.
