70 bus extension of route to Chiswick Business Park

TfL have announced that the long awaited extension of bus route 70 from Acton High Street to the bus terminal at the back of Chiswick Business Park will commence on Saturday January 30th.  Hooray.

Yes, I put forward objections when they first announced the change of route last year. But, as with objections to most things, the powers that be do what they have planned to do withoug taking notice of any objections made!

Nina, have you put your views forward to them.  I very much doubt that you will be the only person with the problem. The trouble may be getting a group together to argue your case but if you all spoke up...

Georgiana - it will stop just opposite to the Police Station, rather than the current terminus just at the back of Morrisons.  This stop is particularly useful for the post office, Morrisons and the shops at the end of Churchfield road.  I know it's not much further, but for some of us it's a pity that a useful stop will no longer be served.

which bus stops are being lost? i.e. where will it stop in Acton.

Chris - this is very nice for some, but please spare a thought for those of us with mobility problems.  I will now have to get a taxi to go to my hairdresser, will have difficulty in getting to Morrisons and the Post Office.  I can no longer go to the library because of the removal of a bus stop.  Buses don't pull up near to the kerb, so opportunities for the mobility challenged are getting fewer and fewer!  Moaning over - at least the new routing will help some.
