There are all sorts of implications - it's never as straightforward as "doing a title change" given the value of property. I would definitely recommend taking legal advice to make sure you have a properly drafted transfer document.

You don't actually need a conveyancing solicitor to do a title change unless there is an outstanding mortgage on teh property (in which case lenders will insist on a solicitor being involved). If you have no mortgage then ring the Land Registry (they are helpful) to receive guidance on doing a 'DIY' title change.
